ElsaesserLab at Justus Liebig University Giessen

Following his appointment as Professor of Experimental Physics with a focus on Space Physics in August 2026, Andreas Elsäßer is establishing his research activities at the Institute of Experimental Physics I at Justus Liebig University Giessen (JLU), Germany.

The research combines experimental space physics, astrochemistry, astrobiology and advanced spectroscopy, with a particular focus on radiation–matter interactions and experiments under real space conditions, including the ESA-selected OREOcube and Exocube experiments for the International Space Station.

The JLU has published a press release introducing the new professorship and its research activities.
